The second season deals with various events, as Fiona's plan to leave with Gillian and her children collides with a bad path that hinders everything. Later, it appears that Garda's focus turns on Paul's death to Jim, whose suspicious activities with Paul are difficult to explain. There appears to be an insecurity in Paul's criticism of those closest to him, a condition that hinders everything and ultimately leads to his death.
