The Long Song - Season 1

The series is about the 19th century in Jamaica. The series begins with a small slave owned farm. This girl is called Julio, working on a farm owned by her obnoxious lover Caroline Mortimer. When it becomes a new arrival appealing to the island, Robert Goodwin, is the new supervisor. On the other hand, Robert's arrival complicates matters at Amante's farm, where Caroline and Julio have begun to compete for his interest. Robert indulges in July, but is also busy rearranging the farm along more humane lines now, because slaves are free people.
